Arrive in London and meet your London Band Week liaisons and staff. Transfer by chartered motorcoach to the city center for Band Week check-in, then check into the Zedwell Picadilly Circus hotel once rooms are available. Dinner is provided by London Band Week this evening.
Wednesday, June 26, 2024
After getting breakfast in the neighborhood with your breakfast voucher, walk to St. James’s Park to review the Tattoo performance, then continue on foot to Buckingham Palace to view the Changing of the Guards. This ceremony is supported by one of His Majesty’s Guard Bands. Lunch on own follows, then tap your Oyster Card to take the Underground to the Tower of London. Situated along the River Thames in central London, this historic fortress has a rich and often dark history. Built by William the Conqueror in 1066, it has served as a royal palace, prison, and treasury. Its iconic White Tower is the central structure and displays an impressive collection of armor, weaponry, and the Crown Jewels. The Tower’s guardian, the Yeomen Warders (Beefeaters), adds to its unique charm. Dinner and evening on own.

Use your voucher to collect breakfast in the neighborhood, then board the chartered motorcoach for an excursion to the nearby town of Windsor. Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. Built in the 11th century, it has been a royal residence for over 1,000 years and is best known as having been the favored residence of Queen Elizabeth II. Take a guided tour of the Castle, including the State Apartments and St. George’s Castle, then enjoy lunch on own and free time to explore this charming British town. Return to London for dinner and the evening on own, with an opportunity to take in an exciting West End show (cost of tickets not included).

Use your voucher to collect breakfast in the neighborhood, then the morning is free for independent exploration, with lunch on own. Your London Band Week Survival Guide will suggest a sightseeing loop of St. Paul’s Cathedral, South Bank, Borough Market, and Shad Thames. Or choose to visit one of London’s amazing museums. Afternoon Marching 110 performance in Potters Fields Park near the Tower Bridge. Dinner will be provided today. Evening concert by the Ohio University Wind Symphony.

Use your voucher to collect breakfast in the neighborhood. Today is a full day of rehearsals in preparation for the evening London Tattoo at the London ExCel Centre. Lunch and dinner will be provided during rehearsal breaks.

Use your voucher to collect breakfast in the neighborhood. Transfer by chartered motorcoach to Hampton Court Palace. One of King Henry VIII’s favored residences, Hampton Court is a splendid Tudor palace and a prime example of English Baroque architecture. Renowned for its intricate Tudor and Baroque design elements, the palace boasts stunning architecture, magnificent gardens, and the famous Hampton Court Maze. Present the Palace Parade Review & DrumLine London: The Battle of Flower Pot Gate. Afterwards, return to London and enjoy a farewell dinner cruise.
